Bucida buceras 'Shady Lady' or (Black Olive) 'Shady Lady'

The 'Shady Lady' is one of the three Bucida species which were introduced to Curaçao. The regular Bucida buseras. It grows faster then the 'Shady Lady', has a more open structure and has much larger leaves. It is not used much any more. The Bucida molinetti (aka B. spinosa) has very small leaves and grows very slowly has a bonsai look and there it is easy to prune it in bonsai style.

The leaves of bothe Bucida buceras stain on wet surfaces such as dew on cars or wet pavers during rain season.
