Ixora odoratissima or Ixora malabarica

Ixora odoratissima or Ixora malabarica has large racemes of pink/white flowers which have very narrow petals. The flowers spread a pleasantscent early in the morning and in the evening.

The leaves are firm, elongated and dark green. This Ixora seems to suffer less from discoloration to lightgreen/yellow because of high pH in the soil and tap water.

Leaves get damaged by the constant wind on Curaçao (see picture).

Ixora's are good to use as a wide hedge. Needs regular irrigating.
